It’s now 10x easier to get started on the next you!

Many of us set New Years’ resolutions and try for a couple of weeks but eventually give up. Most people fail because it is tough to change habits. However, our lives are now forcefully interrupted, so let’s start to create new healthier habits! You can make a choice today to start to develop the next you.

Let’s call it a #coronaresolution! We may have lost momentum at the beginning of the year, but now we have time due to less commuting and complete disruption to the bad habits we’ve always thought about changing.

In our ‘normal’ daily lives, it’s tough to change a habit. However, we now find ourselves under this changed world where we don’t have access to some of those bad habits — snacks from a vending machine, 4 Cappuccinos per day with free chocolate, or a beer or two after work. Now is the time to utilize this chance to adjust your habits!

Getting Started

This morning, I woke up and started to design my ideal week under this, ‘next normal’ as some people are calling it. We all desire a routine and probably some more than others. I’m one of those people who require a routine to be effective. I made a plan for the week that gives me back a little bit of my routine and helps me get back on the path to my long-term goals. Writing down a plan was the first step toward creating the ‘next me.’

“What get’s scheduled gets done.” — Michael Hyatt

Now that you’ve designed your ideal week, you can start making it happen today. For anyone out of work right now, I’m sorry to hear that, and I hope everything turns around quickly. What have you always wanted to do? What can you create using your unique skills?

If you look at the fitness training world, most trainers have moved to create online content that is improving every day. Many musical artists are offering free shows online to get their ‘product’ out to potentially millions of people that could become long-term supporters — and at the same time help all of us that are staying indoors. There are millions of people staying home right now, so use your skills to go online while you have this captive audience.

If you’re not the creative type (like me), then maybe there is something else you can do. There are non-profit organizations that could use our help, so why not look up a few charities that inspire you and see if there is anything besides donations that would be helpful to them. I’ve included some links below.

What will you do differently starting today? What will you create during this time? What’s your #coronaresultion?

Let’s use this time as a blessing instead of a curse. Do you want to help right now? Take a few minutes to check out these volunteer opportunities to make a difference today.
